Deep learning and AI with Tensorflow and PyChrono

An example of AI applied to robotics. The 6 DOF robot was trained using Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithm, and learnt to reach a fixed target solving the inverse dynamics. The reinforcement learning model was implemented with Tensorflow and our PyChrono software.

Vault collapse

Simulation of a complex masonry structure. The model has been created using a 3D CAD, then it has been converted to a proprietary format that has been load into Chrono.

Six legged robot

Simulation of a six-legged crawling robot. The model of the robot has been developed in the 3D CAD sofware SolidWorks, then simulated using our software tools: the Chrono::SolidWorks exporter and the PyChrono simulation library.

Waste processing

Simulation of a CES Corona Electrostatic Separator. This is part of a device for waste processing (it separates plastic particles from metal particles using high-potential electric fields). Using our proprietary software, particles are created from statistical distributions of size, density, shape, etc., then simulated and rendered.

Escapement

Simulation of a `Swiss lever escapement`. Non-smooth contact dynamics is computed in real-time by our simulation software.

Four cylinders engine

Simulation of a 4 cylinder engine, test benchmark.

Robot simulation

Real time simulator of an ABB IRB 7600 robot using the Chrono physics simulation library and the OpenCASCADE library.

Hopper and conveyor

Test of granular flow dynamics in a conveyor belt, using Chrono. Particles have various values of sliding and rolling friction.

Parallel-kinematics robot

Simulation of the GRANIT robot. This device has been studied with our custom simulation tools in order to optimize the dynamical performance, then it has been built (hardware design by A.Tasora / controller design by P.Righettini). Currently operational.
